Hello ya little cheddar goblins! On episode 78 of HINKY, the gang starts off with a long talk about the movie Mandy, then we get into some Kentucky Derby talk. We follow that up with some Lexington Craft Beer Week news, wondering about ghost kitchen locations, and revisiting a fancy restaurant that we weren't sure was actually fancy. Hello ya little snackers! On episode 77 of HINKY, the gang gets to snacking on all kinds of good treats! It's a vintage episode where we scour the snack aisles and try all the weird stuff we find. We also talk about the Chris Stapleton concert at Commonwealth Stadium #notmykrogerfield - will this convince UK to sell alcohol at football games?? We get into some good 5k and exercise goals, plus we learn about university president installations and what all goes into such a prestigious event. Renee's Reports brings us some good events, including Lexington Coffee and Tea Week, and we try some of the featured drinks on the air! We also try some chips (both savory AND sweet) and the newest crazy Mountain Dew flavor. Hello, ya little jalapenos! On episode 74 of HINKY, the gang gets into a lot of nacho talk! Carrie takes a trip to the farm and rescues a tiny dog from near disaster, Renee marks off a lot of things from her to-do list, and we give you our seemingly semi-annual pitch to eat at Bear and the Butcher. We also start our concession stand bracket, and we already have a couple of upsets heading into the finals! Hello, ya little baby cakes! On episode 73 of HINKY, the gang welcomes a guest! Friend of the show Jeff joins us to celebrate Fat Tuesday and to give us some of his fun food opinions. We get into bourbon (obviously, we are in the bourbon room after all), and which ones might be underrated AND overrated. Sara went to not one, but TWO surprise parties in one week, one of which was for Renee, and Carrie laments not being in on the festivities - next time for sure! We talk about some of the events going on in Lexington, and we wonder why we have 3 different biscuit restaurants in the Fayette Co area. For Everybody Tries, we have some chicken etouffee from Bourbon and Toulose, followed by some Mardi Gras-themed cupcakes and cookies from Caramanda's bakery, all of which should be required eating if you're gonna visit Lex Vegas! Hello, ya little submarines! On Episode 69 (hehe) of HINKY, the gang starts out by going down a rabbit hole about...copyrighted music somehow. Don't worry, we get back to foodstuffs after a few minutes! We talk about things we want to experience on our food journeys in 2022, and we tease a new project that Renee and Sara are working on for this year. We discuss pop-up restaurants involving YouTubers and TikTok people and whether or not they will be a sustainable business, and we're still asking for more restaurants to put whipped feta on their menus. Renee reads us the news, we try Wendy's Frosty cereal, and we learn about some New Years' food traditions from around the world. We round out this episode out with a rousing edition of the HINKY Podcast Question, and we see how many times Sara can burp during the show without anyone noticing.
